Samsung has launched the Galaxy A70s in India. This smartphone is an upgraded version of the Galaxy A70 released earlier this year. It embeds a Snapdragon SoC 675 and a Samsung ISOCEL GW1 main sensor of 64 MP, against a 32 MP module for the A70. Added to this is a design change on the back with a new prism texture. The price has not changed.
It is by India that Samsung starts marketing the Galaxy A70s. As its name suggests, this is an upgraded version of the Galaxy A70 which is one of Samsung’s weapons to withstand the competition of smartphones mid-range Chinese. Not content with its status strongly associated with premium smartphones, the manufacturer is very active on the Galaxy A line since the beginning of the year. The formula seems to be paying off as Samsung gained 3.5% market share in the second quarter of 2019 compared to last year.
Samsung launches Galaxy A70s, its first smartphone with a 64 MP photo sensor
The Galaxy A70s is equipped with a triple photo sensor, just like the A70. The only difference is in the main module. The new model trades the 32 MP sensor of the former against a Samsung ISOCEL Bright GW1 of 64 MP . This is the first sensor offering such a definition on smartphone, but the Korean manufacturer has preferred to leave the scoop of its use to competitors Realme and Xiaomi.
This sensor is based on 0.8 μm photosites, the smallest on the market. It also uses Teracell technology that combines 4 pixels in 1 to capture sharper photos and a true 16 MP resolution. The other two sensors are the same as those of the Galaxy A70, namely a 8 MP (f / 2.2) wide-angle module , and a third of 5 MP (f / 2.2) .
The Galaxy A70s is also equipped with a new processor: the Snapdragon 675 , against the 670 for the A70. The SoC is supported by a living memory of 6 or 8 GB . The storage has a capacity of 128 GB, with the possibility to extend it by adding up to 512 GB more. Finally, the smartphone has a 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display (Full HD). Its battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh with support for a fast charging at 25W.
